HopeHands — Charity Website
A warm editorial charity website concept for HopeHands — heartfelt generated photography, radical transparency reporting, and donor-trust nonprofit design.
Challenge
HopeHands is a fictional grassroots charity — clean water, education, emergency relief — that needed to inspire giving without guilt-tripping. The brief called for "warm editorial": full-bleed heartfelt photography, Fraunces serif headlines, red-and-amber warmth on white. Three AI-generated photos (volunteers hero, classroom, water well) had to feel documentary-real. The page needed mission, causes, transparency, field stories, ways to help, CTA, and FAQ — with honesty as the core feature: no invented impact numbers, no fabricated beneficiary counts, qualitative spend bars labeled "roughly", and stories framed as field notes, not statistics.
Approach
We made transparency the design: a "Every dollar, accounted for" section with qualitative spend bars (Majority / Modest share / Small share), an accountability-promises card (audited financials, project-level reporting, honest failures, donor privacy), and field stories told as first-person quotes with locations, not metrics. The palette is warm white with red #e11d48 and amber #f59e0b; the hero layers donate-tier chips ($25/$50/$100/Custom as UI, not claims) over the volunteer photo. The ask is emotional but the accounting is explicit.
Design highlights
The photographic hero opens into a drop-cap mission story with four pillar cards, three photographic cause cards (Wells Project, Classrooms First, Rapid Response), the transparency section with spend bars, three field-story cards with generated photography, a four-way "Many ways to help" grid (donate, volunteer, fundraise, partner), and a gradient CTA band ("Be someone's turning point"). An accessible donor FAQ and four-column footer close a page built on trust.
Outcome
HopeHands demonstrates WebStackRank's nonprofit range: the warm-editorial system pairs emotional storytelling with radical financial transparency — a combination real charities need. The qualitative-metrics approach (words instead of percentages) is a reusable pattern for any mission-driven organization, and the generated photography holds a consistent documentary warmth. The cause cards and donate-tier UI are ready for a real donation platform. The field-story format gives fundraisers a repeatable storytelling template for every campaign.
