Oakline Flooring — Hardwood Flooring Website
A warm editorial website for Oakline Flooring — timber species guide, craftsman story, installation services and a four-phase process in walnut tones.
Challenge
Oakline installs solid hardwood floors with furniture-maker standards, but its old website looked like a flooring warehouse — product grids, price-per-meter tables, and nothing about the craft. Founder Peter Novak, a joiner by training, wanted the site to feel like his workshop: timber, tools, and the quiet confidence of someone who grain-matches every layout by hand.
Approach
We created an editorial-wood language: warm cream backgrounds, walnut and oak tones, Fraunces headlines, and real photography — a sunlit oak floor, the craftsman at work, a macro shot of walnut grain. The copy treats timber like a sommelier treats wine: four species (European oak, American walnut, natural ash, smoked oak) each with a personality description and character tags. The craft section tells Peter's furniture-making backstory and lists the standards (solid timber only, dust-free sanding, hand-applied oils) that justify the premium. A full-width walnut-grain texture band carries the line "No two planks alike. That's the point."
Design highlights
The split hero pairs "Floors with character, built for generations" with a captioned photograph and a timber selector strip (oak, walnut, smoked, ash). Four species cards use gradient wood swatches with character tags. The craftsman photograph anchors the credibility section. The texture band is a pure sensory moment — macro walnut grain under a brand statement. The dark four-phase process section (survey, prepare, install, finish) explains the timeline honestly, including the week-long timber acclimatisation most companies skip.
Outcome
The site now sells craftsmanship, not square meters — visitors choose a timber for its character before asking about price, which reframes the entire sale. The species guide has become a useful consultation tool, with clients arriving already decided. It's a website with the warmth of the material it sells.
Oakline Flooring is a fictional brand created by WebStackRank to demonstrate a flooring website concept. It is a design concept, not a client project.
