PixelPlay — Game Studio Website
A neon-cyber game studio website concept for PixelPlay — glowing game-card grid, synthwave gradients, and a player-first indie studio design.
Challenge
PixelPlay is a fictional independent game studio making original PC, console, and mobile titles. The brief wanted "neon cyber" — deep purple-black canvas, magenta-to-cyan glow, arcade energy — for a studio that also sells development services to publishers. The page needed hero, game roster, marquee, services, process, community, CTA, and FAQ, with strict honesty: no invented review scores, no sales figures, no "Game of the Year" claims. The games themselves are fictional, so the design had to make them feel real without fabricating reception.
Approach
We treated each fictional game as a brand: four game cards (Neon Drift, Deep Signal, Emberfall, Turbo Bloom) built as glowing gradient tiles with emoji-key-art and genre labels, plus a scrolling marquee of titles for arcade texture. The palette — #0d0518 with magenta #e879f9 and cyan #22d3ee neon — is applied with discipline: glow is reserved for interactive and headline moments. Typography is bold and condensed for that arcade-poster voice. Social proof was deliberately replaced with a "Community" section (open playtests, mod-friendly design, monthly dev diaries) — qualitative signals instead of invented press quotes.
Design highlights
The hero stacks a "Neon Drift II — now in development" badge over a glowing two-tone headline with dual CTAs and the four-tile game roster. A title marquee adds motion, followed by detailed game cards with platform tags (PC, PS5, Xbox, Switch), four studio-service cards (full development, co-dev, ports, art & audio), a four-phase "From prototype to launch" process, and the community band. The page closes on a "Got a game in you?" CTA and an accessible FAQ — all glow, no fabrication.
Outcome
PixelPlay shows how WebStackRank handles entertainment brands: the neon system is exuberant but controlled, and the honesty constraint actually improved the design — the community section is more distinctive than a row of fake review scores. Every visual is CSS/SVG; the single-file build is fast and portable to a real studio site.
PixelPlay is a fictional brand created by WebStackRank to demonstrate a game studio website concept. It is a design concept, not a client project.
