SmartHome Nexus — Home Automation Website
A futuristic dark website for SmartHome Nexus — automation systems, app showcase, lifestyle scenes and a four-step installation process in cyan glow.
Challenge
SmartHome Nexus installs genuinely sophisticated home automation, but its old website read like an electrician's brochure — a list of devices with no sense of what living in an automated home actually feels like. The company needed to sell the lifestyle (lights that follow the sun, a house that locks itself) while still proving the technical credibility that justifies a whole-home installation.
Approach
We built a 3D-illustrative dark language: midnight backgrounds, cyan glows, orb gradients, and Space Grotesk headlines — the visual vocabulary of the tech world, applied with restraint. A CSS-illustrated smart home anchors the hero, with floating status chips (door locked, cinema mode, blinds at 60%) that demonstrate the product in one glance. The copy translates features into scenes: "Good Morning," "Cinema Night," "Away Mode" — each a bundle of automations described as daily life, not device lists. A phone mockup built in pure CSS shows the unified app, and the brand-compatibility strip (200+ brands) handles the integration question skeptics always ask.
Design highlights
The hero's illustrated house uses animated pulse dots on connected devices, with a glassmorphic HUD showing living-room status. Six system cards (lighting, climate, security, entertainment, voice, energy) use glowing icon chips and feature lists. The CSS phone mockup renders the actual app interface with toggles. Four lifestyle scenes use emoji-led cards for approachability, and the gradient CTA panel glows with a cyan orb. Every glow, chip, and toggle is pure CSS/SVG — no image weight, all atmosphere.
Outcome
The site now sells the feeling of an automated home within seconds, then backs it with the technical substance (brand compatibility, certified installers, support) that closes the sale. The demo booking path is prominent throughout, and the scenes section gives salespeople a visual aid for consultations. It's a tech-brand experience without the tech-brand clichés.
SmartHome Nexus is a fictional brand created by WebStackRank to demonstrate a smart home website concept. It is a design concept, not a client project.
