Challenge

Luminaire is run by lighting designers who judge every piece by quality of light — but their old website was a standard e-commerce grid that showed products without ever explaining why one pendant costs more than another. They needed a site that educated customers on light itself (color temperature, dimming, glare) while showcasing the curated collection, driving both showroom visits and trade inquiries.

Approach

We built a dark-premium glow language: near-black surfaces, warm amber-gold accents with glow effects, Space Grotesk headlines — a website that feels like the showroom after dark. Real photography captures the essential product truth: lamps glowing in darkness. The copy leads with the philosophy ("we sell light, not lampshades") and includes genuinely educational content — a "lighting lab notes" section explaining color temperature — that positions the staff as experts. Designer profiles champion the forty independent studios, and the services section (lighting plans, showroom trials, installation) shows the full-service model.

Design highlights

The hero's "Light is the soul of a room" headline glows over a photograph of lit pendants, with showroom facts beneath. A gold marquee ticker scrolls product categories. Three product cards use real photography with finish-dot selectors and enquiry CTAs (no prices — the showroom model). The craft section's filament-bulb macro photograph is a sensory anchor. The radial-glow CTA panel ("Come see the light") closes the loop on the showroom visit, which is the primary conversion.

Outcome

The site now drives the right conversions: showroom visits and lighting-plan bookings rather than anonymous online carts. The educational content gives customers language for what they want ("I need 2200K, not 2700K"), which makes consultations more productive. The glow aesthetic is ownable and memorable — nobody confuses Luminaire with a hardware store's lighting aisle.

Luminaire is a fictional brand created by WebStackRank to demonstrate a lighting store website concept. It is a design concept, not a client project.
