Challenge

Pâtisserie Rose is a Madison Avenue patisserie with Paris-trained craft and a devoted Upper East Side following, but its website was a plain ordering page with no sense of the maison. The patisserie needed a site as considered as the vitrine: elegant, romantic, and precise, while handling the practical work of daily pickup orders, wedding cake consultations, and afternoon tea bookings. The design had to feel French without feeling like a theme.

Approach

We built an art-deco-lux site: blush backgrounds, rose-gold accents, ink-black sections, Cormorant Garamond headlines, and diamond motifs used consistently as the decorative language. Full-bleed photography of the pastry case anchors the hero. The vitrine section presents signatures on deep ink with emoji-led swatches and French category labels. The savoir-faire process uses Roman numerals and diamond dividers. The founder's Paris-to-Madison story carries the brand's authority, and wedding cakes get their own conversion path with tastings. Afternoon tea and the monthly ateliers get dedicated conversion paths alongside daily pickup, because the patisserie serves three different customers in one room. Gift cards round out the conversion paths for the customers who come to browse.

Design highlights

The hero pairs elegant pastry-case photography with an oversized serif headline and blush italic accent. The vitrine section inverts to ink-black for drama, with pastries on dark cards. Diamond motifs — rotated squares in section dividers, service icons, and process markers — create a cohesive art-deco language. The story section frames the chef's photograph with a rose-gold outline offset. The closing CTA ("Life is short. Eat the tart.") keeps the elegance from feeling stiff. Every detail, from the thin rules to the centered heads, is composed.

Outcome

The site is now a proper maison online: elegant, romantic, and precise, with clear paths for daily orders, weddings, and tea seatings. Visitors feel the Parisian discipline behind the prettiness, which is what justifies premium patisserie. It's a jewel-box site for a jewel-box shop.
