Ascend Consulting — Business Consulting Firm Website
Corporate site for Ascend Consulting — strategy, operations and market-entry advisory with a diagnostic-first engagement model for growing firms.
Challenge
Ascend’s partners win work through reputation, but their website read like a template consultancy: buzzwords, stock skylines, and a "contact us" form. The challenge was to make senior-only, fixed-scope consulting tangible — to show the working style (embedded, frank, practical) rather than claim it, and to make the diagnostic call feel like the obvious first step.
The partners’ real objection-handling happened in person — "we’re not McKinsey, we embed" — but the website never said it. Prospects arrived expecting big-firm theatre and priced accordingly.
Approach
We designed a crisp corporate experience in white with royal-blue accents and Poppins throughout. The hero leads with the firm’s sharpest line — "Strategy that survives contact with Monday" — beside a strategy-session photograph with a "Senior only" chip. Engagement types are presented as three fixed-scope products, not vague capabilities. The process band is disarmingly honest ("we will tell you if you do not need us"), which is precisely the trust signal this audience respects.
We also productised the intangible: three named engagement types with fixed scopes, each with its own card and story. "The Growth Sprint" is easier to buy than "strategy consulting."
Design highlights
Highlights include the benefit-led headline with a seniority chip, blue-ringed service cards, a photographic engagement showcase, and a process band that sells honesty as a feature. The diagnostic call — not a generic contact form — is the single conversion goal, repeated in nav, hero and CTA.Royal blue carries authority without coldness, and the photography shows real working sessions — whiteboards, sticky notes, sleeves rolled up. It looks like work, because it is.
Outcome
The site now pre-sells the firm’s working style before the first call. Prospects arrive understanding the fixed-scope model, the diagnostic call filters for fit, and the brand reads as the senior, straight-talking alternative to big-firm theatre.
The diagnostic call now does genuine filtering: some prospects realise they need an agency, not a consultancy — and say so. That honesty is the brand working as intended.
