Maestro Music School — Music School Website
Editorial site for Maestro music school — cream and oxblood design with staff-line motifs, lesson photography and a trial-lesson booking flow.
Challenge
Maestro’s teachers are working musicians, but the old site looked like a generic tutoring franchise — clip-art notes and "lessons from $X." The challenge was to design a site with musical soul: editorial, warm and a little romantic, while making the trial lesson feel like an invitation rather than a transaction.
Music schools also compete with YouTube: "why pay when tutorials are free?" The old site never answered it. The redesign had to sell what video can’t — feedback, ensemble, and the discipline of a real teacher.
Approach
We designed an editorial-rhythmic experience in cream with oxblood accents and Fraunces serif. A staff-line motif runs behind the hero; the headline — "Technique is just the beginning" — states the philosophy; and a photo duo shows teaching and performing side by side. Service cards carry a red-gold top rule; the showcase mixes recital photography with ensemble stories; and testimonials span a 7-year-old to a 52-year-old beginner.
We also widened the tent deliberately: testimonials span a 7-year-old, a teenager and a 52-year-old beginner. "All ages" is a promise the imagery and copy keep together.
Design highlights
Highlights include the staff-line hero backdrop, photographic teaching-and-performance duo, red-gold ruled tuition cards, and a four-step trial-to-recital process. The copy’s emotional core is the parent quote — "my son practices without being asked" — which sells music schools better than any grade statistic.
The staff-line motif is the site’s quiet signature — musical without being literal. Oxblood keeps the palette serious; cream keeps it welcoming.
Outcome
The site now sounds like the school feels: warm, serious and joyful. Trial bookings come from genuine intent, adult learners cite the "all ages" promise, and the brand owns an editorial corner that tutoring franchises cannot touch.
Adult beginners now cite the "all ages" promise explicitly — an audience the old site never spoke to. Trial lessons convert on the strength of the teacher meeting, as intended.
