Verde — Plant-Based Restaurant Website
Fresh organic site for Verde, a Silver Lake plant-based restaurant — sunlit photography, farm stories, and a booking flow built for the patio crowd.
Challenge
Verde is a Silver Lake plant-based restaurant with a genuine farm-direct story — fourteen California farms, a menu that rewrites itself around the harvest — but its website told none of it. The restaurant needed a site that felt as fresh as the food: bright, organic, and honest, while doing the practical work of filling tables, selling meal subscriptions, and promoting the garden patio. The design had to avoid the preachy tone that plagues vegan restaurant sites and instead lead with flavor.
Approach
We built a nature-organic editorial site: soft sage backgrounds, leaf-green accents, Fraunces serif headlines, and bright natural-light photography of the actual bowls and farms. The content leads with the food — signature bowls with real descriptions — then tells the farm story with named partners, then walks through the soil-to-plate rhythm. The chef's philosophy ("plan the menu backwards from what the farms have") becomes the site's narrative spine. No mock-anything, no apologies — just vegetables as the main event.
Design highlights
The hero pairs bright Buddha-bowl photography with an oversized serif headline and an italic leaf-green accent, backed by dual CTAs. A deep-green trust bar carries press wordmarks in serif. Signature bowls get editorial cards with gradient swatches and category tags (The Classic, Warming, Crowd Favorite). The farm story section names real farm partners as pills, and the four-step "day at Verde" band — Dawn, Prep, Serve, Compost — closes the sustainability loop honestly. Testimonials lead with the line every vegan restaurant wants: "I'm not vegan and I don't care."
Outcome
The site tastes like the restaurant looks: fresh, confident, and unpretentious. Visitors meet the food first and the philosophy second, which is the right order for converting skeptics. The farm-partner storytelling gives the "seasonal" claim real substance, and the patio, subscriptions, and reservations each have a clear path. It's a plant-based site that sells flavor, not virtue.
Verde is a fictional brand created by WebStackRank to demonstrate a vegan restaurant website concept. It is a design concept, not a client project.
